Today is our 47th wedding anniversary! My how time flies!

5 houses and 2 kids later we are still "tolerating" each other. We each have our own hobbies and still get along 95% of the time. A "small kerfuffle" is expected after all those years, right? But in general, things are about the same as 40+ years ago. We just don't worry about money any longer.

Will be 40 years come Oct. 30th. Stressed right now because I'm retired, she's been laid off Sept. Other than that its copacetic.

Coming up for forty-six in a week. Not much has changed but she did say yesterday, "Do you remember when?" To which I replied, " If it was before breakfast; probably not!"

I told my wife when she turned 40 I was going to trade her in for 2-20's. She promptly told me I wasn't wired for 220. I hate it when she's right. I wasn't wired for 2-20's when I was 20.

After 30 years of marriage it hardly seems worth mentioning after reading the above posts but it's a start.

Happy Anniversary #47, a toast to many more years of blessings. I think a long and happy marriage is very underrated.

39 years in June. Time doesn't fly only when you're having fun. It just plain flies.

Next month, my wife and I will have been married for 49 years.
I told her that she is still on probation.
When she hits 50 years she can have a permanent job!

jeez only such a short time.... married my HS sweetheart of 2 yrs .. this past summer it was 54yrs .. taught her to shoot rats a local dump and if her parents knew i would have been gone ... we both shoot cowboy for the past 12 yrs .. she reloads all the shotgun and some long range stuff .... trick is don't go to bed mad at each other and don't argue about stuff that does not really matter .. rule from the beginning was, if you want a divorce that is ok, will give you all our money, house and car, i just want my clothes, tools, truck and guns, you can have the rest, BUT you have to take my mother .... my mother died last year, so now it is too late

A hearty CONGRATULATIONS to you . . . a day late but better late than never.

My wife and I will be 49 yers this coming August - in my eyes she is still the same beautiful bride I married. Marriage is like a job - you have to work at it - something that a lot of young kids who tie the knot seem to forget - for better or worse, through sickness and health . . . .

I don't know where the years have gone - but I can't think of anyone else I would rather have walked that path with.

Hope you enjoyed your special day!

CONGRATULATIONS!

We'll hit 55 in July. We dated some in HS and some while we were in college(different schools). I had been working my first job out of college and she was teaching in a different state, only about 4 hours away. I used to drive that most weekends, thru sun, rain and much snow in the winter. Like others, I don't know where the time went.
