Are the threads for the action spring tube nut lefthanded? I have an 1100 that hte action spring nut will not budge. Any ideas?

in all the years doing smithing i have never had that off a remington 1100 never had a need to take it off! steve k

The action spring tube is silver brazed on
The nut that holds the stock on is standard thread.
Use a square shaft long screwdriver or buy the protected bit from Brownells that will save you from a split stock. the bit has a collar tha keeps the screwdriver part centered on the nut so it doesn't wedge between the stock and the nut. You use a socket extension and a T-handle breaker bar.

Thank you gentlemen. I finally got it. I think this rascal got dunked in the water. The threads were rusted pretty bad.
