What’s the twist rate for the CVA 32 cal Varmint rifle? I don’t have the manual and I am not the original owner of the said rifle. Does anyone here know or have a manaul they can pull out and verify it? Is it good with only roundballs or can it utilize the conical balls too?

I dont know about the Varmint rifle, but I seem to remember that my CVA .32 Squirrel Rifle had a 48" twist- but I only shot patched. 310" round balls in it.
I miss that gun.

Hello Darth,

Here is a clip from the 1994 Product Catalog.

AntiqueSledMan. Thank you so much! So this rifle is 1:56 twist? That’s a slow twist? I’m assuming it can only utilize a roundball with patch?

That's a slow twist for 32 caliber. The smaller the caliber, the more twist is needed.

Hey Guys,

My son & I each have .32 CVA Squirrel Rifles, 1:48 twist and really shoot.
In 1989 CVA introduced the .36 Caliber Squirrel Rifle, 1:48 twist.
I have no idea why they went with 1:56 twist on the Varmint Rifle.
