Is this an old Ohaus? I doubt it as they did not make 3C moulds that I know of.

Lachmiller made a lot of 3 cavity moulds.

Did Lachmiller mark their blocks? These have no marking other than 45 on the sprue plate and one block, with an "electric pencil". The steel must be pretty hard, as the markings are faint.

ive had 3 Lachmiller molds. All three were marked Lachmiller. One was a 3 cav one a 2 and one a 4. spruce plates didnt look like that either. Honesty i dont know what you have there. Looks like a decent mold though. Pretty rare to see any factory made mold without vent lines cut in it.

It doesn't look like the Lachmiller 3 cavity mould that I've had for 40 years or so. The sprue plate is different and the mould is marked Lachmiller 45-200. Mine looks like an RCBS mould. RCBS bought Lachmiller out.

I think that might be an early Cramer. There are no vent lines and my only Cramer is a later production with the company name and mold number on the sprue and vent lines, but the sprue plate is similar. It doesn't look like a Modern Bond, and I don't know of too many other mold manufacturers operating before WW II, which is when I suspect that was made.

Thank you for the information. I found a couple of images of Cramer molds, and it my mold does seem to have more similarities to Cramer than not.

I'd say Cramer. I have a 5 cavity Cramer mould in my mould cabinet. 38 wadcutter. Don't think it had been cast with. I cannot believe the workmanship that went into that thing. Nice big handles and the name Cramer milled into both sides of the blocks. I don't need it but hate to put it on the auction block because of the workmanship. Guess I'll let my son decide where it goes. Those guys really had pride in workmanship./beagle
