OK...I've read a bit and my understanding is that one needs to size their boolit to fit the cylinder (Vaquero 357 Mag old style) as well as the barrel. My gun checks with pin gages in the cylinder .3585 (1 chamber) to .358 (5 chambers) and the barrel slugs at .358 so I am sizing the boolits at .358....is that right or not?

It seems like it would do no real good to go bigger as the cylinder would reduce the boolit anyway. Am I right?

Thanks guys,

Edd

I would try .358" and if it shoots well and doesn't lead then you are good to go.

Some would suggest .359" if you can chamber a loaded case with a .359" bullet.

I agree with dave. When its that close id try both 358 and 359 and see what shot better. Then do it with every bullet i shot out of it as just because one bullet shoots well at a size doesnt guarantee another will. Same with even changing alloy. It depends on how anal you want to get with it and what your accuracy standards are.

Thanks Dale and Lloyd. I'll try the .358 first and if need be go to the .359, which I'll have to buy. OF COURSE! Dang this hobby is sure saving me money:-):D but I do love it!
