Got this in a 45-70 purchase years ago. Die is labeled 0.475". Any idea who made it? Think it is time to send it down the road to someone who can use it.

That is a lee whack a mole from their old pan lubing kit. I used one in 358 for a long time and it worked fine. Wish I had one in .430/431 and in .310.

Don't know what cartridge that die lubes bullets for, but it's not for a 45-70. Too big.

I think he mis-typed the size. In the picture it is marked 457

Okay, then too small for the 45-70. Most guys, including me, size our bullets to .460.

Be easy enough to open it up to the desired size. I'm not into 45-70 yet, but I'll keep my eye out for one nonetheless. To me those sizers are just neat, just like the lee classic loaders, and Lyman tong tools.
