Just got an alert sent to my phone. Midway has IMI 9mm jhp for only $1.20 per round. How can I say no to that? Oh yeah by casting some boolits.

But you can save by buying in bulk. 1000 rounds will only cost you $1200. Such a deal.

A guy at work could not believe I wast my time reloading and casting. Well this is why

Larry Potterfield must have no shame. I bought some CCI Blazer last year from Palmetto for eighteen cents a round shipped.

At least Potterfield is SELLING ammo, not just promising some in the future

That's the thing right now. 99% of us don't need ammo but a few do due to being new reloaders or not having components. Supply and demand. It is what it is.

I wonder what price the manufacturers are selling to Midway?

No one is selling it cheap right now , and I noticed mold handles and other items have all increased as demand and shortages increase so will prices . I like to see what the prices are when I get a email just for curiosity .

Yeah, good for you. So did I. And my grandpa used to buy gas for $0.10/gal. But guess what? That’s not what it costs anymore.

Factory 9mm will never again be $0.18/rd. That ship sailed. The good old days ended in the spring of 2020. All the guys and gals that just bought their first handgun a few months ago, well they’re happy to find some 9mm in stock at all.

Everybody said the same thing in 2008, and again in 2012, and again in early 2016. The fact of the matter is that the prices will be high as long as people are willing to pay them. When people stop hoarding and stock sits on the shelves, it will go back down.

I found a 1000 rd cube of CCI brass blazer 115 fmjs with a price tag of $159 in my stash. Who woulda thunk that I could sell that in 2021 and buy a nice gun with the proceeds? I was at a gun show today and saw a vendor selling primers for $.10 each, and he sold out.

Ain't no way I'd pay $60.00 a box for 9mm. Give Mr Potterfield credit though. A couple years ago he read the tea leaves and diversified into fishing tackle. Smart man.

To thinking just sold 2 boxes of 50 for $20 each and made money

A coworker bought a .380 but could find no ammo. I dug up a box of Wolf steel case ammo( all I had and I don't have a .380) and gave them to him. A couple of days later he gave me a box of Win white box 9mm and a box of Fed match .45 because he doesn't own a 9mm or .45- things work out well sometimes!

And for the weekend, he has 556 for sale. $1.35 - $1.30 a round depending on amount. What a bargain.

Just ran across an OLD box of Remington .357 125 gr JHP with a price sticker on it.....$10.99....definitely good old days!!! Only premium handguns on the shelves that barely cover 4' of shelf space where a year or so there was 60' of shelf space loaded with all price ranges & 5 aisles of ammo too..now now same thing a box or 2 of ammo that must be from someones back room on the we can't even give it away shelf...to think I complained when Bass Pro bought out Cabelas!

I bought the same stuff in 2018 for 17.99 a box. They had IMI M855 for $.25 a round at the same time and I stocked up on it also.

I had a nonreloader ask yesterday if I could come up with 100 rounds of 30-06 and .308. I said I think so just need to look when it warms up.

Went to look in a warm building today and came up with 101 rounds of factory 30-06. The highest priced box shows $16.55 from The Bullethole. Late bil most have bought those during Oboma years.

Not sure what to charge him. I sold him a big box of mixed ammo last year for $200 that would be worth around $2000 plus at today's rates.

He also wants to buy my stubby. Don't really want to sell it but he is always good with the cash.

I just wrote a letter to Attorney General Moody of FL, asking her to investigate the price gouging. If we were in the aftermath of a hurricane, folks that overcharge for water, gasoline or chainsaws are prosecuted. In my simple mind, there’s no difference

I ain't your grandpa, and I remember gas for $.17/gallon. And a 1965 Ford Mustang for $2500. Most of a decade later, I got a 1903 Springfield for $100. But, as they say, that was then, and this is now. Bought my youngest a box of Browning 9mm, 100 rounds, and an H&KVP9 for $814 a few weeks ago. Last time I took her to a gun store, she said "Daddy, I want that one!" and pointed to an engraved and gold inlaid Colt SAA for only $25,000. At the time, I was looking at a 1930 C96 7.63mm Broomhandle Mauser pistol I couldn't afford for only $1450 and crying inside. I think I got off light! And I've already got her interested in learning to reload and cast boolits! I think it was only $40 for the box of 9mm.

I bought several ammo cans of both items mentioned several years ago. not sure what I paid, did it on sale with free shipping. I could not believe it when I got that same email. curious at to what he is being charged for it. I am glad I am stocked for life with ammo and reloading items.

Years ago I took the nephew out to sight in his 30-06 . I was shocked when he pulled out a 20 round box with price sticker of $20 , I gave him a 50 round box of my 30-06 loads , I do not buy factory ammo , I reload , I may buy a few boxes here and there if price is right for the brass or to put up for a rainy day , bought 3 20round boxes of 50 beowolf from midway a year ago same stuff is over 3 dollars a round now .
I see the high prices and remember past shortages and what people who are unprepared will pay or bellyache about , it is a time to cut back on wasting ammo , by all means shoot enough to keep in practice , but do not waste , help where you can to encourage younger shooters , teach accuracy and conserving your supply , I am shooting black powder firearms while I see what happens and I am not lacking in components , buy am going to save what I have until I see a chance of replenishing .
