Hello everyone,

Casted and powder coated some 61 grain Elvis boolits, but cannot find load data anywhere. Was planning to do work up starting with 17 grains of CFE223 and 15 grains of IMR-4227, and would like opinions on that, as well as COL. I was planning to go with 2.260”. This will be my first supersonic rifle casting, so I’m just trying to make sure I don’t kill myself. Thanks!

I’ve found that too, and I’m kinda frustrated that Arsenal Molds would even be selling it with pressure issues, at least without a disclaimer or something. Anyway, do you have a recommendation on a good .223 mold?

Lyman 4 addition cast bullet manual has load data for the saeco 60gr using IMR 4227 10.5 to 15.7 max

Just got back from the range and neither IMR4227 @ 15gr nor CFE223 @ 15gr with a COL of 2.255” would cycle the bolt. CFE223 seemed to be more accurate, however the cases are MUCH more sooty than with the IMR4227.

I run the Lee 55gr with 19gr H335. This cycles the gun and holds the bolt back after the last shot.
Try starting around 17gr and work up.

BTW
This gives a MV of around 2025fps
