I recently had a mold cut for Accurate 43-250H with one cavity for a GC and one PB. I am wondering if any of you all have any experience with this bullit and can share load and accuracy data. I will be working to get (1) a day to day load for my 29-2 4" in the 900 to 1,000fps range. I'm guessing such a load will go around 1,300 out of my 20" Browning B92, that I had rebarreled by John Taylor with a 1:20" twist barrel while the mold was being cut. And (2) a faster load for hunting purposes, running around 1,700 fps out of the B92. I thought I'd check with you all rather than blindly reinventing the wheel. Thanks in advance!

All the best - Dave

Chances of you finding someone that has the exact same mould, let alone identical firearms, is slim to none. Your gonna have to tailor the loads to your guns.

You're on your way, going with a PB and GC mould. I frequently have moulds cut with both designs. Usually, PB for pistols and GC for carbines..............due to increased velocity from the longer barrels.

Since you want a mid velocity load for the pistol, you need to have a powder that is capable of being downloaded, safely. That leaves powders like W296/H-110, out. I would recommend Unique and or 2400 for that type of application. Both can be downloaded with satisfying outcomes.

For data, look to Lyman's Cast Bullet manual. The Lyman 429667 bullet closely resembles Accurate's 43-250 H design. My Lyman mould drops a bullet that is closer to 245 grains, conventionally lubed.

Whatever data you select, start at the minimums and work up. Keep in mind that the carbine will yield significantly higher velocities.

The 43-249B note says nose for a lever gun.

What I do to help in finding data for a bullet that don't have published loads, is measure the amount of bullet that is in the case, and try to find data for one that occupies a similar amount of volume.

It's easy enough to use starting magnum data, but if you wanted to use 296 for example, which don't take kindly to downloading, might be of interest to you.

With that bullet I would initially use 8.5 grains of Unique, check the accuracy and if it was good I would be good to go. That load would fall somewhere from 900 to 1000 FPS give or takes FPS in a 4 inch gun.. Similar load with PowerPistol.

DB, there are many calibers with a bullet diameter of 43 ... mine letting us know what caliber your asking information about .... in the meantime, here’s the bullet ... https://www.accuratemolds.com/bullet_detail.php?bullet=43-250H
