ive noticed that on a 405 grain 45-70 bullet if i open the mould too fast the driving bands are more rounded than if i wait just a little longer. how does rounded bands affect accuracy or if all.

The rounded bands are not the only thing you need to worry about, the bullets may be slumped or slightly bent since you opened the mold before they froze. You'll know when you try to size them.

Pends, if you are shooting stumps at 50 yards you won't notice. If you and your gun will cut 1" on paper at 100 normally, you might see 4" if your lucky.

I also would imagine it would but I’ve never kept any of those bullets to shoot so I was just curious to what degree. My Sharps is capable of 1 “ at 100 if I do my part. My original question was because I was using range lead and I added a little tin for fill out and the lead ran silky smooth but was getting those pesky rounded bands. My melt was running at 750 degrees

Melt may be a little hot. I am too cheap to buy a thermometer for my casting, but my bullets set up real fast. Turn temp down a bit and see how your casts are effected.
