Hello neighbors,

I can't seem to find a Lyman 358156 in stock anywhere and the used ones are very expensive like everything else.

Who makes the closest copy of this mold? I have a RCBS 38-162-SWC but it drops really fat and is hard to size down to .358".

Thanks in advance for your time,

I just oedered this mold from Accurate Molds with 2 cavitys gas checked and 3 cavitys plain based.I have been useing and old Leee 2 hole for a long time but the last time i cast some the old Lee is giveing up.It is time to replace the mold with a netter one.Accurate is the place to go when you want a mold the size you need.If you size to .3585 order the mold to that size and it will be no smaller than that and nit much fatter either.

The 36-160D is the plain base and the 36-160DG is the gas checked.https://www.accuratemolds.com/bullet_detail.php?bullet=36-160DG

NOE makes a good copy and with the hollow point and solid point pins is very versatile .

Isn’t the Lee 358-158SWC GC similar to the Lyman 358-156?

Joel,

I thought the same thing so I bought the Lee mold. Unfortunately I can't get it to shoot well at all.

My 6banger should be here tomorrow. I’ve shot the Lee 358-158SWC GC in my 6” Smitty 686 and it did very well. It was on par with the Lyman 357466(it’s not suppose to shot good but it does) that shoots lights out in my wheel guns. What recipe are you using? Are you water dropping or air cooling? Are you using a GC? Just for reference I water dropped everything, I haven’t air cooled in over a decade lol. When I tried out the Lee SWC I didn’t use a GC.
