Was in a local pawn shop and they had a used Rockchucker on the shelf. Looked at the price---$240 plus tax!!!

They had some 223 ammo, $40 for 50 rounds.

Whew!!

Doubt that it will get any better now!

Load what you got and store away, will be like gold.

Pawn shops are like the 'we tote the note' used car lots:

If you have the stomach for it--- you can get rich owning one.

Thats a good price for 223 so jump on it.
A month and half ago it was $2/round here.
Primers are $20/100 right now

Friend just got $8000 for his "excess" 9mm(at $40 a box) from a gun shop that will resell it at $55 a box . He paid maybe $6.95 a box not that long ago. That's the times we live in ! The "good ole days" was 2019 !!

Other than rim fire 22 the only store bought ammo I have bought in 30 years or so is a few boxes of ammo for a new gun if brass was not easy to get. 7.62x54 is one that I recall buying a few boxes of Herters ammo mostly to get the brass. I have plenty of reloading supplies but not a lot of factory ammo.

I paid less than that for a brand new RCBS Rebel.

Pawn shops and second hand stores are great places (at least they were pre-COVID) but you MUST know the value of items.
I've seen well used tools in pawn shops listed for MORE than the same tool sells for new.

Caveat Emptor

And remember the price the seller is ASKING is NOT what the item is worth. Something is only worth what someone else is willing to pay for it.

I ordered an RCBS bench priming tool. I waited for them to come back down in price on amazon. The one i ordered went up 10.00 already.

Sad True Story: Two Saturdays ago, Jan 31st, I was a Seller at the Malabar Rifle and Pistol Range "Swap Meet", and did a rather bustling business. While I was actively selling and could not go looking, the guy on the table behind me sold a BRAND NEW (looking) RCBS Rockchucker press for $20.00! Pristine! IDK if there was "something wrong" with it - I tell myself that anyway. It appeared FINE. Had I known...and you cannot catch them all.
