About to buy one. Has anyone here owned/used one yet??
The trigger feels fantastic. Just hoping it's as accurate as my centerfire Savages.

Yup, I got one prolly three years ago. Mine had an especially tight chamber and had to be sent back to the factory for a little finishing. Other than that, it has been great. Not quite as accurate as my CZ, but very nice. Mine has an Apachee trigger kit in it that brings the pull down to 1lb. Mine seems to prefer subs and standard velocity.

So far I like it. The magazine has a learning curve for loading. Scope bases are tight. The trigger is nice 2.5 lbs. Now to find the elusive spare magazine, made of unobtanium:killingpc

I finally got some trigger time. It was windy, cold and I was shooting prone holding on to a t post my first groups were in the 1.5-2" range at 50 yards. The magazine is a Pain to load. Going to keep it loaded for while to hopefully relieve some tension in the spring.

I had to change the stock on mine, way too much drop for any human. Boyd’s Tacticool stock works well.

I purchased one last summer but just to many things going on for me to spend much time with it. Mine has a rough scratchy feel when lifting the bolt to cock on opening. I disassembled the bolt and can see the rough machining but I'm reluctant to try to smooth it up. I gave things a nice film of TW25, Its either going to have to smooth up on its own or stay scratchy. Other than that its a nice little rifle for the money and what I use it for. I'd buy it again after having it a while.

A guy at the range yesterday, was shooting one and having trouble with cases not extracting.

Cases not extracting is not new to the Savage line. The clip that keeps the extractor/ejector in the grooves of the bolt tends to be a little weak. When I disassemble mine for cleaning, I give it a little squeeze. Some people double up on it, but I don't see how that works.

You still liking it? Try an CCI Standard?

CCI standard shoots very well as does Russian Junior steel case.
