Not a true swaging question but can 6mm jacketed bullets be swaged/resized down to .223? Or is that too much of a difference and the process would ruin them? Have 550 6mm bullets and am wondering if a 6mm/223 build would be worth the hassle to swap out the bbls on my .300blkout Seekins upper and keep the bullets to reload? Thanks ahead.

Unless I had an order of magnitude more bullets than you do, I wouldn't even consider it. The die(s) necessary for the job would cost W-A-Y more than 550 bullets. Sell them or trade them for what you need.

Short answer: yes. The resulting bullet would probably not be good for much but that would be the user's decision. (Simple rule:swage up/draw down)

Thanks for the info guys. In looking around for a 6mm-223 bbl, AR gas block, parts and new dies would run me $300.00 plus. Not enough projectiles to justify the expense of a new caliber. And I don’t have a 223 [my son does] so it was to give him more bullets whenever he decided to reload for it. I do have a couple 300blkouts that I play with. Problem solved.
