Just curious , which Lee mold 6 cavity fits feeds and functions best in a 1911. They will be poured from WW , powder coated and fed thru a kimber.......regards

Just FYI check out my recent thread on the LEE SWC mold and my 1911 http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?411499-severe-leading-on-first-cast-boolits

Depends on many factors but generally-speaking, without knowing your specific pistol, either of these:

Mine feed SWCs just fine but yours may not - so I'd suggest you take the safe route and go for the shapes that have the best chance of reliability in your 1911.

I would go 230gr TC. The 228-1R can be tricky with short throats & chambering. The 200swc should feed in any kimber or modern 1911.

I had feeding issues with the SWC in my new 1911. I would think the opposite, that a 228-1R would feed better. I got a MP-452-200 round nose flat point hollow point which feeds much better. I would think the 228-1R would be similar.

Beat me to it. The 230 TC bullet feeds in everything I shoot it in. The RN 228 has given me problems in almost everything I've shot it in. The SWC will shoot great in my 1911, but won't in my Glock or an XD my brother used to have.

I prefer 185-200 gr swc but I haven't found a 1911 that the lee 452-230 tc won't feed and function with .

Just a thought on the Lee RN bullets. More often than not a 1R bullet needs to be seated deeper than most other 230 RN bullets due to the "fatter" ogive. Personally I'd go with the TL 452-230 2R, the TL 452-TC or the Conventional lube 452-230 TC. I own 3, 45 ACP guns and these feed smoothly in all. Another excellent choice is the Lyman 452372, 225 gr RN, also feeds well in many (if not all) 45 ACP guns...

This would be a good time to get a few samples from members here .

I bought that mold for that exact reason the 1r would have to be seated very deep to chamber . But I have not tried the TL230 yet.

The TL230R2 works great in my Springfield 1911A1. The 228R1 profile had to be seated too deep to pass the plunk test. The 200SWC also feeds great.

I couldn't get the Lee SWC to feed reliably unless I crammed it deep (so I traded it off) - but the other two, H&G68 and Miha's clone, work perfectly at various depths. Basically just have to try them out.

The only boolit I cast for many years was the Lee TL452-230-2R as mentioned and pictured above. Work in all my 1911s including 2 Kimbers.

Started with Lee Alox, then Recluse's 45-45-10 but quickly moved to Hi-Tek coating which eliminated smoke & smell. Started with straight COWW but have switched to straight range lead.

The 230 TC is the only thing I cast for my .45's anymore. Feed and shoot well in everything I have.

It would be cool to get the OP a sampling of all these styles so he can test before buying a mold (bloody expensive one, too, these days!).

I don't have any Lee molds myself in .45, only Lyman, MP and H&G.

I like the lee 200 rf and 200 swc. Both feed great in my gold cup.
