Has anyone made their own rimfire insert? I am not a machinist, but I do have access to a lathe with someone who is. I'm looking to shoot a Remington derringer in 41RF, it actually came with 4 boxes of ammunition (1 was fortunately open, so I've fired it a few times!). I think that it would be a fantastic Sunday-Go-to-Church concealed carry but would really like to feel comfortable firing it before I make that decision.
I've made my own 32RF and 44RF inserts out of brass stock and used ramset or 22 acorn charges for propellant - but this seems like I need a little help on this one.
