Was wondering if anyone has formed .44-40 brass from another caliber? I have .44 rem mag brass, .460 S&W mag brass & 7mm Rem mag brass as donor brass. Thanks in advance.

The only thing other than 38-40 I can think of without doing a lot of research, is maybe .444 Marlin. And then you would have horrendously thick necks to deal with.

Starline still makes .44-40, and if I read their website right, it is in stock.

As much fun as I have converting brass, if you really want shootable quantities, buy it if it is available. This also gets you the proper headstamp, so you don't get "But the case says it fits."
