I have come across a bunch of dug up shot that is pretty clean. very few tiny rocks. If folks are interested I will post in Swapping and selling.

There is a market for that shot.
But what kills the deal is usually the shipping costs.
Years ago I would get that kind of shot.
I could screen it and clean it and use it in shotgun loads.
But mostly I would just smelt it down and cast boolits out of it with some tin added.

Yes. For reuse and a component to alloy with. Good source of antimony and arsenic.

IF you have to mail it, then use the USPS Small Flat-Rate boxes - cheap shipping and they'll send it no matter the weight (up to 70 lbs, IIRC). I've bought plenty of alloy that way.

Yes. I salvaged shot from a trap range for my Cowboy Action loads. To sell it, it needs to either be very clean or very cheap. I was salvaging in a desert environment. It was laying on the ground on hard dirt around ant holes to be scooped up but it had lots of tiny rocks in the mix. It was everywhere but the ground was bare for a few feet around the ant holes. I spent lots of time getting it clean enough to run through a gun again.

Mostly interested as alloy material.

The best market for reclaimed shot is at that skeet range.
