460 S&W mold

Looking for a mold that will throw around a 350gr boolit give or take with ww lead. Also is gas checking absolutely nessicary if I would be powder coating? Thanks

with that heavy slug would there be enough speed speed on it to get any thing out of the gas check,

I sized down a 458-340 Lee for a rimless version .
Of course you can't get a copy of my carefully reproduced example from Mountain Molds at .453-350 RNFP , it's a little longer .

All of the current 460 load data maxes out at 43-45kpsi with 250s .

I don't know what you'll be shooting this in but at about 1900 fps in a 16" 95 Mauser in a Boyds Prairie Hunter it stops being any fun at all .

It will be a S&W 8 3/8" revolver. You can for sure get enough powder in there to drive her pretty fast. I think once I find a mold I like I'll just go pc and send it. See what happens.
