I would welcome any advice regarding bullet lube sizing die for a Lyman press for the Lyman 429244 bullet, please

You'll need to slug the barrel of your gun. SAAMI specs for 44 Magnum rifle barrels differ from handgun barrels, 431" vs 429". My Puma runs a bout .4315"-.432" for 4 consecutive slugs, but I've heard of some rifles with .429". I run my cast bullets for my Puma sized to .433" (I opened up my Lee .432" die)...

When you say "for a Lyman press", are you saying you want a push-through die to use in the same press you load ammo on, or that you want an H&I set for a lubrisizer machine?

The big question is will your mold drop a bullet big enough for a 44 magnum rifle? Many won't.
Good Luck,

The size is the problem as has been mentioned. I had a sizer that ran a tad over .431" and it worked well. You might have to "beagle" the 429244 to get extra diameter. I did on mine./beagle

I size my 44 bullets to .429. I have a Win 94 plus a couple of 44 handguns. They work great all the way around. My bullet of choice is a Saeco 260gr with GC. Cast from straight scrap WW.

My 1977 manufacture Winchester Model 94 in .44-40 (out of Canada) slugs .432.

I shot many 429244s, GCd & lubed, sized at .430 in two M94s with excellent accuracy every bit as accurate as when sized .431 and .432.

I used to have one of those, back in '69, and I cast the Lyman Ray Thompson gas check version. I used it in my Ruger Superblackhawk for deer hunting, in front of 18 grains of then Hercules 2400. You could drive tacks at 50 yards with this load in the model 94. They were sized at .429.
