Norma 205 is an old powder. I have some and have used it. It is very slow burning. It may not be suitable for cast boolits. Its burning rate is something like H4831. I have an old Speer loading manual - Number 8 - that has loads using Norma 205 powder. For instance a .300 H&H rifle with 150 grain boolit they list starting loads of 66 grains 4350, 71 grains 4831, and 72 grains of N205. In the .300 Weatherby with 180 gr. boolits they start at 74.0 of 4350, 79 grs 4831, and 80 grd N205.

Norma had trouble getting the burn rate in the right range for different lots, so they discontinued it, and replace it with MRP. It is fantastic for high velocity 180gr .30-'06. You can achieve 2900 fps. It has a very similar burn rate to Norma MRP. A very early Handloader magazine has the .30-06 data for N205.

I took that 180gr .30-06 load to Alaska and shot a Caribou with it. Magnificent.

Be careful: Norma has several MRP powders.

I'm on XP at this time and Opera doesn't like the websites security status.
Firefox on XP okay with it.
When I'm on XP I use both browsers above as needed.

I use H4831 in my 30-30 with the Lyman 210gr RN. My most powerful load in the 30-30. Very low pressure, yet more ft-lbs than any other load by far.
