If any of you have cast & loaded for the .223 Remington T/C barrel, what diameter do you size your bullets to? I have seen both the .224 and .225 size dies but do not have a mold yet to generate a bore slug. Most of my manuals specify .224 but there are a lot of .225 size dies out there. Hopefully some of you have slugged your T/C Contender 223 Rem barrels.

What have you been sizing to?

Chambers can differ. I size to .225 unless I get one that won't chamber. 0.225 works in my contender 223 & 22 hornet.

With one mould [225438] I size at .225 as those are used to duplicate 22LR subsonic velocities. With the Lyman 225462 and the 225415 which I push to 1800 - 2300 fps I just seat, crimp the GC and lube in a .227 H&I die....basically leaving them as cast at .226 +/-.

I am with Larry.... I just started my Journey with contenders, but mine go in as cast.. and I have only tried the lee Bator which drops just a hair over 225. my 226 sizer doesn't make a mark on it except where the has check goes on. my barrel likes it that way, so I didn't have much to do except find a load of red dot it liked, which turned out to be about 6.5gr. i have quite a bit of red dot and 700x so i just use them and it shoots nice to my liking.. it is my trapping gun now.
