Marks look like pre 1924 Birmingham provisional proof.......A number of 92s were bought semi privately in WW1 for the fishing fleet ,IIRC to pop off mines caught in nets.

Very nice 92. All the other marks will make the collectors drip on the keyboard.
If it went to China then possibly it was through Hong Kong and the British military possibly had had the say over what type arms entered.

Sweet rifle! I'm a vet (retired) I don't think I ever saw a Lakeland in "person". Not any around here that I know of. Nice looking dog too!.

Nice rifle, a great example of why the 1892 SRC was popular world wide.

Yes that is a nice one.........
It is no wonder the 1892 Winchester was and is such a favorite. Weight, balance, handiness, Handgun calibers, noise levels etc. Rossi was smart to make and market an affordable copy. I just wish they had been closer to the quality of the originals.

If I lived in the US I’d be looking to get all the 1892 models I could ! But it’s not easy in the Uk.
Think my collection is complete now just need to shoot them as much as I can

I had a Rossi 92 (357) for a few months. Nothing wrong but nothing right either.

A real Winchester is something completely different, I just firelapped one from 1901. You need to handle and shoot these old girls to understand.

Here are some British Proof Marks on a Win92. A lot were sent to England during the war and to sportsmen as well.
