If you were going to cast a bullet for a new modern inline rifle............

When you size your bullets for a cartridge rifle you should size it .001 to .002 over. What size do you guys think you should size your MZ bullet?? Over .002, or under .002 for a slip fit?? Looking for opinions.

Also which lube would you consider best for MZ bullets?? And how do you prefer applying the lube?? Tom..

what i do is cast up say 50 bullets for the rifle of interest. then i size 45 of the bullets the exact bore diameter and the remaining five .001" over bore diameter. i use the .001" over bore diameter for loading a clean barrel for a hunt. that way it loads snuggly yet easily and stays put on the powder charge. if the rifle is shot then i reload with an exact bore diameter bullet. this also loads snuggly yet easily because of the fowling in the bore provides the required resistance.

i have been using SPG lube. put bullets in shallow pan and pour in melted lube up to top grease groove. i have been wanting to try the White Label BP lube but they are out right now.

I have used the white labe BPCR lube for my Lyman whitworth bullets. It works very well in my 45. Ron

I used to use crisco. It workes pretty well and is easy to get. I now use the wonder lube. It seems to work well too and I kind of like the smell! I don't size the bullets but have thought of it. I probubly have never tried because I don't have a sizer for that size.

Tom, Isn't the above the question you posted on the Accurate Reloading Forum (AR), Cast Bullet (CB) sub-forum? Starmetal also posted an answer there.
