Help identifying press for primer catcher

I'd like to order a primer catcher from one of our V.S. sponsors and I'd like some help identifying my old C-H press.

Obviously I know it's a C-H but I don't see it listed on the primer catcher website but it sure looks like the Lyman Spartan would fit.

Any input from you wise folks?275529

under the C-H logo there is a number that should be 204. That is the model number; C-H never gave all their presses a catchy name.

I have a Herters Model 3 that needs a primer catcher.

Pressman is a good bet, perhaps the best. Post a photo of your Herter's press and any numbers, names, or marks and he can likely help you.

I don't remember the Herter's press ever having a primer catcher.

All the Model 3 frame presses have an optional metal box that hangs from the primer arm bolt on the right side. It works decently well to catch most primers. But, it was an option and is not easily found today.

I cannot remember the guy who was making 3D printed primer catchers, he began here but I think he's on eBay exclusively today.

The best "primer catcher" I've ever seen is a little Lee Reloader press combined with a Lee Universal Depriming die; they easily remove and capture EVERY spent primer in the hollow bottom of the press.

I drilled a 3/4" hole under the collection chamber of mine and added a plastic tube to drop the falling primers into a baby food jar; it's clean and I haven't decapped in a sizing die for years.

I use the floor for my primer catcher. I’ve never missed it yet, but I have to remember to sweep it up occasionally. (Tongue firmly in cheek! :wink: )

Big Tom made a really great looking and working primer catcher for me for the old Super Pacific. It was a printed copy of the original catcher. It had a tube to feed the spent primer into a basket and also copies of the original color Pacific logo stickers that I couldn't tell the difference between them and the originals that were on the press. james

I've still got my ancient 204 on my bench......use it for occasional pulls & such.....it was bought new and was originally a red color.....came with a heavy aluminum catch bowl that was and is black in color.........good press.......only problem was having to remove that reinforcing web on the underside of the die hole............wouldn't let me fit my equally ancient Herters push luber. (that still works too...cleaned that dried up lube from the 60's out and stuffed it with alox).
