Would loading round balls with triple 7 filled to the bottom of the ball be too much velocity for the ball to shoot accurately? Was thinking of seating the ball to the center and roll crimping. Should I seat flush with case to reduce powder ? I’ve loaded T7 with 240 grain lead and it shoots very well from my SRH but was thinking the round ball would be a fun plinker
Sounds like fun. Give 'er a spin and let us know how it goes.

The round balls should be here this week. I’ll give it a go and share what happens.

0.433? My guess is there’ll be so little bearing surface between ball and barrel, accuracy will be low. Try two balls. Less powder, more chance of hitting something close

I think you'll be fine. They will be soft enough they should obturate and fill the grooves and, they are a certain amount of fun. Speer and Lyman both used to list round ball loads in revolvers and I think some rifle cartridges. Lyman hasn't in many years and I don't know if Speer still does. I tried some .457 RB's, sized to .454 in a 45 Colt over a smokeless charge. Mine weren't very impressive. I did expect more at short ranges.
