long time lurker first post.
I did a trade the other day and got a 270 barrel for my Savage and a bunch of brass bullets dies etc. In the deal is some Montana 150 grain 150 Grain Soft points Gas checked and lubed. They look nice. I'm curious how they will preform and what to expect from them. The info in my manual has them going considerably slower than the jacketed stuff.
Any advise is appreciated Thanks

32-34 grains of W748 for around 2000fps or 10 grains of Red Dot for 1400fps or so. They'll be slower, recoil will be less. What are they sized to?

Thanks for the reply. I measured them at .277.
Wow that's a lot slower than what I was thinking My manual Lyman 47th shows speeds of 2400-2600.
I have H335,H110,H332,H380,Titegroup, Bullseye and several others. Is there a speed that things will start going south? Or a range that you would recommend?
