I have a rifle chambered for the above, I have loading dies and some formed cases but what I DON"T have is powder and bullet load information.
Anybody out there who can help me with loads?

.225 Winchester data for up to 70 gr. bullets( starting loads) should work; heavier bullets than that, .250 Savage start loads. If your gun is a Contender, there might have been a 6mm JDJ. Start low, work up as always.

I don't have one, but wasn't there a 6mmJDJ that was basically a 6mmx.225 Winchester? Something else to look for reasonably close loads for anyway.

Having owned several SSK barrels for my Contenders, I don't recall a 6mm JDJ but there was a '7JDJ' based on the .225 Win case AND a '7JDJ #2' formed from the .307 Win. Load data for light bullets in the 7JDJ might give you a starting point but be advised that many of the starting loads provided by SSK back in those days were right on the edge of 'do not exceed' for similar capacity cartridges, even back then.

In a true wildcat situation such as this I would examine the differences in loads between 6mmTCU and 223. That should show you the differences in bore diameter between the two, or what bullet best relates to an 85 gr 6mm from a .223. Then starting with the starting loads for that bullet in 225 Win work to an accuracy point in your gun. I am assuming this is with jacketed, for cast treat it like a 243 or 6mm with velocities under 2000 fps.

Look also at the differences in data between 222 Mag and 6x47.

My edition of COW does list a 6mm JDJ and has two loads for a 70 gr bullet and one for an 80 gr all hollow points . If you want the data I can post it or PM me for it . Notes state for use only in a SSK barrel .
