Saw this on the Brownells news letter.
They put a 10/22 barrel on a Mark 1.
Looks kind of cool.

I'm not sure how easy it would be to draw from a holster,
but if nothing else, that long sight radius should help most folks with their accuracy.

Well at the very least I'm thinking a low cut from drop down leg holster.
I believe I would just carry a rifle.

I have a 16'' Heritage 22 revolver. It's a lot of fun to shoot. And is an attention getter when others are around.

I think it was made for the Silhouette crowd.

Oops, missed the part about a 10/22 barrel. I was thinking of the 10" barreled 22 pistol

You could cut it down to 5.5 inches and make a nice pistol

I know a guy that is in the process of fitting a 10/22 barrel to a single six. I can’t remember exactly how long he was going to keep the barrel, but he says his kids love to shoot the long barreled guns.

I've got a Ruger MK II with a 10" barrel, two Buckmark's with 10" barrels one of each model, and a 12" H&R that was my dad's.

I'd like to get my hands on one of the 14" Buckmark's but they are going for more than a house payment.

I'd get one of those 16" Heritage revolvers if they were built a bit better. I'll settle for one of the 9" Single Six's.

'Super' Buntline special? How about the German anti-tank rifle. Shouldered by one and shot by the other.

An old saying comes to mind .... " Too much of a good thing . "

Just because you can put an 18 " 10/22 barrel on a Ruger MKI ... that doesn't make it a good idea , just something to look at and wonder ... In heavens name ...WHY ???

Having shot more than a few stock 10-22's, my question is why didn't the builder use a barrel with better chance at being accurate?

As a range toy, it could be fun, but I think it would be very awkward to carry afield after small game.

One of the sweetest little carbines I've ever seen was a factory (I think) work up based on a buckmark frame. It had a 16 inch carbon fiber wrapped barrel, and barely weighed anything. If it shot anywhere near like it looked and handled, it would be a dream. Sadly, it was the only one I ever saw like it.

I've often wondered why carbine kits haven't been offered for the Ruger pistols. It would make a great, handy little rifle.

RobertThey probably wanted to " keep it all Ruger".
But you make a good point.

The 10-22 I have and others I have had were all very accurate , funny some seem to get lemons and others find lemonade . I have ruger mk2 and never saw the need for any longer barrels.

I think that would be hard on the wrists to hold up and steady. a lot of leverage fir the weight to work. But is is interesting. one plus to the barrel length would be a hollow stock the gun fit thru into and clipped on. Maybe hinged and hollow from the bottom up so it just folded in half when not in use. Make a nice carbine for back pack and camp use.

With the 18" barrel the shoulder stock shouldn't make it a short barreled rifle.

Sort of a marbles game getter with a modern twist:bigsmyl2:

The only why I could think of was to send an invitation to arrest you for having a barrel longer that 14" which is the limit. Heck, add a stock to any pistol without a tax stamp you send the invitation for making a short barreled rifle. Danged it those folks want to get you coming and going!

Negative, a pistol can go to a rifle (>16" bbl) but a rifle can never go to a pistol. ATF vs Contender.

1. Buy a Charger
2. Put a brace on it
3. Have more fun than you've had in a LONG time.

Kind of reminds me a a neighbor many years ago who had the Vet come out to his farm to put an extra leg on one of his horses so it could run faster.

Not my cup of tea but add a detachable skeleton stock to it and i could see how it could be a handy little gun to have.
