I read a post that gave a formula for using AA 5744 in BPCR, I am buying 2 1876 rifles and would to use some 5744 in these 2 rounds, 40-60 Win and 50-95 Win. I think it was Montana Charlies post but not sure, if this is the wrong place to ask this I do apologize. THANKS :drinks:

Mike Venturino in SHOOTING LEVER GUNS OF THE OLD WEST doesn't recommend smokeless in the 1876s...this was prior to the replicas coming out.

John Boy, over at Open Range and some of the other forums, has done some work with 1876 replicas, IIRC.

I don't have a current Accurate Arms reloading book, but they might have data on their web site or ? They had data for 50/90 Sharps awhile back.

Start low and proceed with caution. Mike Venturino has an acquaintance nick- named "Shrapnel" for what he did to a SAA and an 1876 Winchester.

It wasn't me, Harold.
