How to change message title like this?

I've tried to change the title to reflect "SOLD" on several listings in Swapping and Selling, but it don't take. But I see others that have done this - what's the magic word ?

I realize you moderators have enough to do, that's why I asked how I could do it - some other forums it's easy and in fact REQUIRED. If normal users can't do it on this site, fine. I'll just crawl back in my foxhole now...

...............So far as I know the title cannot be altered. I've tried every way I know and nothing at all is directed at the title.

when you guys first make a post there is a time limit that you can change it, how long that is i don't know. after that time limit only the mods and ken can change it(edit) steve k

just add a post at the end for "sold"

OR

don't use the quick reply, use the standard reply then you can add any title you want.

When new posts are showed to members the new title will appear.

On my screen right above the first post in the thread there is a Thread Tools icon. That one will let you change the heading. At least on my screen, maybe it's only Staff that has it.
