bought a brand new lee 170 grain mold. have done nothing but take out of box and look at it. i can see light thru the blocks when i close it. upon further exam i found the edge of one cavity to be a little rough, like having a burr.should i clean it up and deburr it or try and send it back.if i cant send it back im only out about twenty dollars or so, but i dont think a person should have to do any work other than cleaning a mold prior to use. also heard varying stories about the customer service and QC at Lee. doug

I accept the fact that a 20 dollar mould will need some tuning. That's the difference between a lee and an accurate. Or a lee and an RCBS. Personally, I'd use a pencil lead to soften the burr and see how it cast. I have a new lee mould that shows light at the seam and it casts fine though.
