I have a Lee Hollow Point mold for .36 Cap and Ball Revolver. The mold box says it is oversized to .380 Diameter. I have a Lee Bullet Sizer for .358 Diameter. My question is, can I size that .380 Cap and Ball bullet down to .358 for use in .38/.357 using the Lee Sizing Die?
Thanks,
Dale

Its not easy sizing down that far. After about .005 it can be a pain. I have had to use .280 gas checks on my. 264 bullets in a pinch. Those took some force and a head start. Good thing my press stand is sturdy with a long handle.. It also going to elongate the bullet and work soften them aswell. So if that isn't an issue.
Can you, yes. Is it sustainable I doubt it. After the the third bullet you will see why its a bad idea if you dont stick a bullet. You could tumble lube with something first to help the sizing process. I have used dawn dish soap or alcohol on PC bullets because I was getting tired.
Do what you gotta do. But I would order a new Lee mold. All their .357 and 9mm molds work well and are cheap.
