I've been looking for a mild load for bullseye matches, looking for something fun to shoot - not punishing, just plain fun with decent accuracy. I've been limited to powders on hand...Red Dot, Power Pistol, Bullseye and Unique. I've experimented with seating depth, sizing and the amount of crimp and today it all came together with 6.2 grains of Unique. In years past I did all my accuracy testing at 25 yards but aging eyesight and unsteady hands have forced me to reduce the distance at which I do my testing. If I can do my part, maybe I can stay in the black of a B-8 target at 25 yards...the distance at which we shoot our local matches. For now, I'm satisfied with what I've done at 10 yards. A separate 10-round string produced an SD of 13 but I'm not going to drive myself crazy chasing chronograph numbers. If it shoots good, that's good enough for me.
