Is a Winchester m55 a variation of the m94? And- is the barrel manufacture date hidden under the forearm as well? I only ask because I read somewhere that the barrel date might not be the actual completion date.
I'm curious is all.

Is a Winchester m55 a variation of the m94 ? - the Model 55, introduced in 1924, was the first variation of the Model 1894 line, followed by the Model 64 in 1932.

And- is the barrel manufacture date hidden under the forearm as well ? - IDK

It is a take down rifle with a 24 inch barrel. You can use a small chisle oand a hammer.
