A stainless steel pocket flask followed me home from the thrift store. That should cope with hazards off the shelf. On the shelf, a glass bottle will resist the solvent effect of the contents.

What is the gasket on the flask made from?

Some of the solvents in the list are pretty bad. I believe if you can smell hydrazine you are all but dead.

I use polypropylene (number 5) for my temporary solvent use. It holds up quite well.

Glass, metal and wax work for longer term storage. Select the one that works best with the solvent.

I keep a supply of Ed's Red Bore Solvent , with acetone , in a Windex Spray Bottle ... it hasn't melted the bottle and the spray nozzle lets you adjust from "off" to a heavy stream to a fine spray mist for spray applications .
The Windex bottles are the old Blue color and one clear color Windex ... I think this one had Windex with Vinegar in it . Both are 4 years old and still spraying .
Ed's Red will remove the labels off the Windex bottles .

I just used an old hopps #9 jar I had laying around. It doesn't hurt the glass. I keep the bulk supply in an empty Sea Foam can but only make about a pint at a time.

When I mix some Ed's Red up, I use the metal containers the components came in. Spray painted & labled, they store well.

Good question.
IDK. It is white and rather soft. However the opening is near one side of the top, so I can store it upright or even on one side-if less than 80%full-and not worry about it.

If you want heavy duty, this thing has lasted 10 years holding pressure all the while. If you google Spot Sprayer there was one for $23. Mine is full of 50/50 Marvel Mystery/Acetone rust buster. They say 100 PSI but 20 works fine.

I store solvents(and other stuff) in glass containers and use at least 2 thicknesses of aluminum foil, pressed to conform to the threads to protect the gasket. Of course, these bottles are not subjected to rough handling but the foil protects the gasket from fumes that might compromise the seal.

Careful with some acids containing fluorine which have the ability to dissolve glass. These acids, such as hydrofluoric acid, are able to react with the compound silicon dioxide that is found in glass, dissolving it.

The series Breaking Bad explains this very nicely

HDPE is perfectly fine for gasoline, diesel so yes. almost all solvents.

I've been using mason jars for Ed's red.

It took awhile but I finally managed to empty 2 metal gallon solvent cans. Before this I used HDPE for Ed's Red and similar cleaners. One lasted for at least 3 years without problem.

...

That's what they told me (and repeated constantly for over 20 years) when I was in the Air Force. My jets, the F-111D, didn't use it, but F-15's and F-16's did. They said it smelled a lot like ammonia, but if you got enough to smell it, your liver was destroyed, and you were dead shortly thereafter.

My Edd's Red is in a metal quart 2 cycle gas can. An expensive way to buy chainsaw gas but I reused the cans.

Try buying just the can. I think gas makes it cheaper.
