I have asked Santa for a mp-359-125 mold for 9 mm for Christmas I have been casting 300 black out with some help from all you . so I have pure lead, 50/50 ,95/5 solder and super hard what mix would you recommend? I will be shooting a browning high power and and a Glock with an after market barrel it will be for target shooting ( paper and steel) but I would like to keep the velocity at factory defensive levels and no gas check the mold will cast solids and hollow points

I shoot a Lee 356-120-TC. It weighs 124 gr dressed up with PC. I use an alloy with 3% Sb and 1% Sn.

My go-to loads are whatever SP primer, 4.5 gr WSF or 4.8 gr Unique. I prefer FC brass for the guns with tight chambers. COL to fit the chamber of the particular gun I'm loading. The stock Glock has been working great at .356". There are other guns I load for that take .358".

Really lots of choices for powder that will give you safe 1150fps with 125gr bullets. I also like WSF, but Unique, W231, AA#5, AA#7, PP, BE86 even faster powders like WST & RedDot (sleeper for accurate lead ammo) work fine. Get a Lyman manual, lots of data. I shoot mostly range scrap, sometimes sweeten with clip ww or a small amount of lino. It works for all my service calibers up to std vel. I do powder coat.

I use 95-3-2, two coats of HiTek, sized to .357 for my factory Gen 3 Glock barrels.

You'll get pretty close to that alloy with one pound of SuperHard, 8 pounds, 9 and 1/2 oz pure, and 6 and 1/2 oz of 50-50 solder. Or, with the same pound of SuperHard, 8 pounds, 12 and 1/2 oz pure and 3 and 1/2 oz of the 95/5 solder.

For the 9mm (and all boolits, for that matter), fit is king. You'll need to slug your bores to be sure. I'm not sure about the alloys you listed, but I use WW sized to 0.357". For the 9mm, you want the bullet to be hard enough to avoid "sizing" when it's seated in the case. Also, I've had better luck with slower burning powders like Unique, Power Pistol, or HS-6. I've never been able to get the same level of accuracy with powders like Bullseye or Titegroup. Good luck!

Give RedDot a try for a fast powder. It is really a sleeper for accuracy with cast bullets in most handgun calibers. My most accurate 9mm will do 2" hand held at 25y with WST under a 125gr cast. Using RD, WSF or Unique about the same.

I have been using a 120gr lyman mould , powder coating them, and loading with Titegroup, makes for a great practice load!

With a 115-125 grain bullet 5.4 grains of WSF is a good load.

May be heresy to some, but I find 4.0 Red Dot works with just about any bullet in 9mm. I’d have to look up the velocities, but these loads cycle the action and are accurate as I need them to be.
