Looking for a mold - 32 H&R/327 Fed Mag.- 98 Grain WC
I have been using the MBC 98 Grain .32 Target Hi-Tek Coated for awhile and I am down to my last box. MBC is not currently offering this bullet or any of the .32 ones for sale.
any advice on what mold to look for?

I use an arsenal 314-98 dewc. It does pretty good.

I shoot alot of both of these calibers. While the dewc’s are a good bullet, they are not my favorite in either. I think that both of these calibers shine with a little heavier bullets. If I were to only shoot one bullet out of these, it would be the noe 314-119 rf. It is a great bullet with great accuracy out of both. For the 327, I mainly load the mp “mjolnir” in either hp or fp. These come in at 123gr and 128gr. They are perfect for the single sevens. In my 327 gp100, I like the mp sledgehammer. In my alloy, these weigh about 142gr. These are great bullets, but are too long for the single sevens.

These would be primarily for a GP100 327FM and occasionally a LCR 327. I love that little Ruger snub nose for plinking use. I sold the single seven I had, I couldn't hit water if I fell out of the boat with that pistol. It was all me and the SA grip, I know that and accept that I am a DA revolver guy.
I started with the MBC 98 grain target bullet and found some really pleasant accurate loads with it. Then stopped there..never tried another bullet at all.

Sounds like you like the 32’s as much as me!

Sounds like you like the 32’s as much as me!32 S&W Longs are a grand substitute for 22 LR. And with a 98 grain swc and 2 grains of Bullseye, my fixed sight Smiths shoot to point of aim at 15 yards.

My favorite Revolver Cartridge to be honest. somehow in the past 10 years I've become a 6mm rifle guy and a 32 revolver guy- who would've known
I would have sworn I would have stayed with the 45 ACP and 38/357 to go with my 30 caliber rifles

I do the 327 Brass but with 3.9 grains of 231- same here. and just a smile inducing plinking fun for everyone.

Don't forget Accurate Molds. Tom has a boatload of molds to choose from. I prefer 115 + grain bullets for the 327 and haven't even fired my Single Six in 32 H&R so who knows there. It'll have to be a 115 + grain bullet as all my molds are those.

I have 1 Accurate Mold (31-126D) that is a RNFP or LFN style that shoots very good and would recommend it. Of course the MP Molds in either the 115 or the Sledgehammer are home runs. FWIW, 2 of the molds I have are GC designs and 2 are PB. I'll give the accuracy edge to the GC designs but the PB are still very good.

thanks for that...i know have tabs open for NOE, MP, Accurate, and Aresenal to see what's there and available.
still haven't gotten into gas checks...this far it's been all PB molds

For heavier boolits, the 311008 and Arsenal makes a 135gr swc.

I bought one of the brass two cavity HBWC moulds from NOE in a group buy several years ago. It’s still NIB as my reloading interests for the 32 have changed. Send me a PM if you would like to discuss it.

Of course the -008 designation hearkens back to the century-and-a-half old design (running 115 grains) from Winchester and Ideal for the 32-20. I like this bullet design for the 32-20 and the 327 Fed Mag, but for maximum punch, I like the NOE version of it that weighs in at a whopping 125 grains. The only Ruger I own in this caliber is the honkin’ big Blackhawk 8 shooter, but if you want to add a heavy bullet to your selection this one is a pip! One warning though... check for overall length of the loaded round. It may be too long for some cylinders.

Do some research on seasoning a brass mold before casting with your MP. I've got 11 at last count and there is some good information to note on heat cycling a fresh mold. I did just assemble one and start casting (maybe my 4th or 5th mold) and I've heat cycled all the rest and take it easy on my first and second session. By the 3rd time pouring lead in the new mold, it's game on. Still watch for any tinning on the parting lines and wipe it off while the mold is screaming hot and you'll not have to try to get it off while the mold is cold. A tin rich alloy, hot as Hades temps, and fast casting can make this more likely to happen for me. I've learned to slow down a touch and look at the open mold often. Put the HP pins in and look forward to be happy casting with that mold.

Mp-molds has some good information on their website. Plenty of tips and tricks.
