I inherited from my uncle some molds that I am unfamiliar with. One in particular is a 429 421. This mold is different in that it has a bottom hole 180 degrees from the sprue. Approximately 1/8 to 1/4 inch, also has a screw on bottom of mold, that is not for mold attachment.

Can anyone here tell me how to utilize this mold, am I missing an insert. Apologize for my ignorance, but just pulled these out after a 25 year hiatus in various attics as I have moved.

Thanks, Shaylor

Forgot to mention hole runs all the way through.

Yep, it's a hollowpoint. Eric at hollpwpoint service might help.

Hollowpoint pin inserts through the bottom and the screw holds it. The pin usually has a wood handle.

Oh yea. Welcome to The Forum!

Sounds like you have a mold set up for hollow points, and you are missing the
pin that goes in that hole. Never used a hollow point mold, so I can't help you
much.

BTW, that's a good design for the .44 Mag and .44 Special. Get you a HP pin made and you'll enjoy it./beagle

Did you get any boxes of reloading stuff from your uncle or other family members get any? That pin might be in the boxes.
