Surplus powder recommendation for small pistols

Not sure if there is a surplus powder for small pistols. I really like accurate #5. The ball powder is really easy to measure. My Makarov likes it....

I think the only surplus powder nowadays suitable for a Mak is probably "Russian Unique." Alliant Promo would be worth looking into.
