This bullet doesn't look like it has a crimp grove. Anyone have any experience with this one. It is better to crimp in the top lube groove or possibly taper crimp. These will be for 38 sp target loads so they shouldn’t back out.

Additionally H&G molds are very nice (this is my first and only H&G mold) like I’ve always heard.

The H&G list says #527 is same as the #50 without the crimp groove.
Crimp in the top lube groove.
Do not lube the top groove. That is assuming you are using conventional lube.
Or crimp over the end with all the bullet inside the case.
Lower your powder charge if you crimp over the top as this reduces case capacity and can raise pressures.

I have the H&G 50 and it is a shooter, I only lube the bottom 2 groves. I read somewhere on here to only lube the bottom grove to improve on accuracy. But for some reason it
gets the bottom 2 on that particular bullet. Not too sure of the load but it is a very mild load, somewhere close to 3 grains of bullseye.
