He’s not doing well. Dementia is getting the worst of him. Only 74 years old.

Just doesn’t seem right considering all the fond memories that he and Chuck Conners gave us.

Shame. That is one nasty disease. My Mom had early onset and has since passed.

Friends father has it bad.
At least he doesn't know what's going on anymore.

My dad went the same way a few years ago. If there was some small mercy, that was it.

Here's a link to a song recorded by Glenn Miller after his diagnosis.

Father-in-law passed away on the "Ides of March" and he had full blown Alzheimer's as did his father. Not to sound crass but I believe it's a lot harder on the family than the patient.

Not crass at all as it is true. Only reason I speak to my Father today is one my Mom made me promise her but two was the fact he had to care for her for a long time and did a good job.

IIRC, Johnny Crawford became a very successful and accomplished singer. It's a shame that anyone has to go through things like this.

My mother had it for 14 years, yes it is much harder on family than patient. Two friends fathers have it, having tough times. Always take time to talk to them and tell them call me anytime.

By all accounts, Mr. Crawford never got infected with the Hollywood "Self-Important" syndrome. Apparently, he was always, "Yes, Ma'am/No, Ma'am" or "Yes, Sir/No, Sir", to everyone, from Studio Exec, right down to janitors.
I'm sorry to learn that a right-acting person like that is struggling so.

Johnny had a small role in “El Dorado “. He took a shot at John Wayne, and paid the price. I don’t recall him being political, which is good. Godspeed Mr Crawford!

My Sister has it. Gotten to the point she really doesn't know anything any more. She had a photographic memory and could remember thing that happened 50 years earlier, like it was yesterday. Now, she just exists.
