I was given a 94, in pieces, and I have a question about the action. After assembly I worked the action and noticed the bottom metal that is attached to the lever didn't close completely, lacked about an 8th of an inch from closing flush with the bottom of the receiver. What is the cure for this or is it even a problem?

The problem is common, and not really a problem if the action functions properly. They do fit flush when new, and I'd attribute the difference to parts wear. You can probably correct it by substituting new or newer parts if it bothers you.

This part raises the locking lug. If things are not moving there might be some crud keeping it from going all the way. Might be a good idea to take it to a smith that knows 94s to see what the problem is. Many 94s have a headspace problem, if the locking lug it not going high enough there will be headspace.

I was kinda suspecting a headspace problem cause the primer showed a heavy strike and left a noticeable ring around the divot. Looking at the bolt face shows that it isn't smooth but it's like the firing pin is making the firing pin hole in the bolt face larger.

Wear in the lever hole or link pin between bolt and lever. Or wear on the lever at bottom plate pin. Most likely is a new lever is needed. With the locking lug left down, excess headspace results and wear on other parts happens faster. The locking bar will protrude slightly from the top of the action with everything right.
