This is my go-to rifle. I bought it in 1975 but it was made in 1974. It is well used; yet taken care of.....as of late I have noticed that when I go bolt a round from the magazine into the chamber that the spring is not bringing the round up high enough for the bolt to pick up the round. Occasionally it will begin to work but it will then not raise the bullet up high enough to chamber and runs the nose into the front of the magazine box. I have tried to find a D33 spring (Short Action) without any success......I have tried to stretch it some and it seems to work for a short time to some success......I have called Ruger and all the other sources....I need your wisdom or does anyone know of a magazine spring that will work in my old rifle.....I really do like it and dont want to retire it....thanks in advance so please feel free to chime in put your 2 cents in as I will appreciate any suggestions and help.....PAUL

If you can not find another spring,
You can stretch out that spring and Re Temper it by setting it in a pot of molton lead for a half hour or so.
You cover the spring and let it sit till it is cold.
You might have to do it a couple of times.
