AR-15 book

I'm going to give my grandson, who lives out of state,an AR in 5.56 for a Christmas present.
Although he is an experienced shooter and hunter, he has zero experience with the AR and I want to give him some publications about the rifle that will help him with maintenance and accuracy.
All suggestions are welcome.

However, that Complete Guide would make for an excellent thing to add to a bookshelf instead of a hard drive. While it's quite convenient to have it digitally it looks like the bookshelf is the best option for that nice looking book.

Some say books are obsolete in this day of computers. Not me by any means. I have what one could say is a fair gunbook library. Just received a copy of Jim Thompson's book "The Essential Garand". And although I just started reading it the author's writing style and lots of info on one of history's greatest battle rifles leaves nothing to be desired. usually when my birthday and Christmas rolls around books are my first request. And the same thing in print. It's what all of us got with our M-16s and while not a lengthy read, that was exactly it's strong point; everyone could use it and keep it with them. Heck, I still have mine. Mine cost me 3 years, below it's a lot less costly.
