can someone tell me if RCBS 82103 is a hollow base bullet and have any of you ever cast using this mold. im gonna purchase a Pedersoli 1861 Springfield soon and was wondering about using this .575" 58-500 Minie Ball

Describes it as hollow base flat nose single cavity. Never shot it.

does this come with abase like a Lyman? How is the hollow base made i cant find a pic ot information anywhere.

Hi barnabus,
Unlike Lyman they have a slider attached to the handle mount screws with the HB pin in the center. Ohaus\Shiloh made them this way too.
On a side note, i have never come across a Pedersoli that used a .575 diameter Minie. You may want to wait and check the bore size before making a mould purchase.
New Pedersoli's used to come with a matched mould, as I broke in and cast several different ones over the years.
