I'm trying to find a hull prep tool similar to the Mountain Storm tool I saw on youtube. It cut on the inside edge of the crimp.

Anyone know someone that makes something similar? Yes, I can do it manually but I'd just as soon purchase a tool to save a lot of time AND my fingers.

Thanks in Advance

I checked on those, I don't want to shorten the case I just want to remove the crimp portion so I can drop a drive-key slug into it. If the crimp ring is left intact it assists in holding the slug in place.

Did you try emailing him? I was thinking about buying one also. I may make one of those myself but it looks like he does a nicer job than I would.

Would you please post a picture or link or something, so we could know exactly what you are talking about?

OK,,, that's interesting. I'd say you need to get ahold of that guy and see if he'd make you one. Nothing like going directly to the source for the real deal.

Any one who tried to make one like that would have to completely reverse engineer the tool and it looks to me to be made by a Machinist so the actual dimensions are going to be a little more precise than typical woodworker tolerances.

Any way it looks like it works pretty well for that specific use.

What would you be using it for?

Don't you like the vivid colors of my high $$ version?

If you can't find one. Simply have someone go on thing I verse and 3D print one that uses an exact knife blade. Looks like it should work fine.

So when you cut the crimp end out but leave the rolled edge, does the lee key drive slug fit in snug or do you need a nitro card under it?
