Howdy guys. A while back I had commissioned Badlands Precision to design and manufacture custom solids for my 12 Gauge from Hell project. The slugs were made on a CNC lathe out of solid copper round stock. The slugs come out to .729" and 726.5 grains. They are designed to stabilize at my twist rate at velocities 2000 FPS+. A lot of people were asking me to send some to Jeff, so I sent him 10 projectiles to test out.

Here recently, Jeff contacted me to inform me he has begun his testing and gave me a little bit of a sneak preview of their performance at normal shotgun velocities. Here are the photos he sent.

I won't give too much away, but I will say I am very impressed by their performance at such low velocities. The expanded slug contacted something extremely hard, which resulted in some crazy symmetrical expansion.

I will be sure to link his video here when it comes out. I'm thinking it will be up sometime this week.

That's pretty cool...looks like that'un met up with his big lead target.

I follow his doings, it's interesting the stuff he shoots.

Not the lead target, I won't spoil it for you. I have no idea how it'll do on the lead or if he will be using it at all

One of Taofledermaus's better test videos, what an impressive round.

How's about showing us your rifle you shoot those huge brass cases in?

Certainly! Some things got lost in translation between me and Jeff. I did not invent this cartridge and my gun is not "custom". I use an H&R USH with a 3.5" chamber. It has a steel frame and the barrel steel is what they use for rifles, so it can go to 25k PSI. Past 25k psi, you run the risk of coming off face.

That's a 458 Lott for scale and my FIL shooting it on my wedding day.

Watched Jeff's video today, and yours too. That is one stout round for a shotgun!

That's the most incredible shotgun round I ever saw. Thanks for the pictures.
