I got an older Lee 6 cavity mold in a lot of molds I bough recently. I can't find any markings on it, but it looks very similar to the 356-124-2r. Below is a picture of a 124 on the left, and one cast from the new mold on the right. As you can see, the nose is a little different and the Boolit is shorter. The 124 weighs 127.5 after PC and alloy is COWW. The unknown weighs 119.5 after PC and alloy is COWW. I tried searching google to see if maybe it's a discontinued mold, but didn't come up with much. Any ideas?

Are you looking for a mold number engraved on the top of a mold block, or are you looking for a lightly stamped 5 digit number on one end of the mold blocks? Different production runs result in different weights and profiles.

That's the odd part, there are no markings on the top or the end. They are definitely older, so I would have expected the 5 digit on the end. Most of my Lee molds drop boolits heavier than advertised, that's why I was stumped on this one. I reckon it could be the 124 that just came out a little light.

Yeah, I'm not sure. Either way it drops nice boolits. I powder coated and sized to .358 and they ran nicely through my 9mm when doing some testing last week.

I would call it a 120 grain RN , load some up and see how they shoot ...
Might be just the ticket for 380 acp or 9mm Luger !

It casts a nice looking boolit .

That's actually exactly what I did! I labeled the tub they go in as 356-120-RN. They shoot great in my 9mm.
