I've come to like these, they only shoot SA, but feel right in the hand. A mix of modern cartridges helps, the top one is 41 Colt, the middle is 38 special and the bottom is 32-20, but also has a 32 HR magnum cylinder. There's an old SAA and original Colt Lightning to the left for comparison.

Nice! I just got a Thunderball (Pietta) in 357. Waiting for a chance to get out and shoot it.

Neat. What's the original lightening? 41 LC? What year you spect?

If it is a Lightening it is a .38. The .41 was the Thunderer.

It's a 38 Lightning from 1903. I use Hornady 148 grain HBWC and .7CC FFF which performs very well.

The SAA is a 44-40 from 1902.

Thanks for sharing. I didn't know they made the lightning that late.

Regardless of it mechanical unreliability, it was quite popular. When you shoot them next to handguns of their time, you see why. Small, they handle well and are light for their power, especially the 41 Colt.

And my Uberti 41 Colt fits like a glove in a .22 holster! That surprised me a little but made getting a holster easier - I have a couple.
